Extra Legendary Complete!
Another stretch goal is complete with the release of the Floating City. This set is one of the backer voted Legendries and features 3 versions; one floating over water, one floating over land and one partially submerged. It's now available on our MMF store and in the libraries of all our Gold Tier backers.
This one has proven tricky, requiring additonal testing which is partly why it has has taken longer than expected to release. The floating island part consists of two halves which need to be glued together and attached to the desired base. Alternatively, if you want to leave the model hexless (heresy!) the waterfalls act as an effective tripod so it can traverse around the map.
In other news
Some of you may have already seen that we've made two 3-hex mega tiles for Mini Wargaming's upcoming campaign for Age of Sigmar on their YouTube channel. The mega tiles in the video are prototypes which we will be making available as soon as they have been optimized and made suitable for resin printers. Consider these renders as works in progress.
In other, other news
We know some of you feel that we're getting distracted from our KS commitments but the process of making these feeds into what we've been planning for the Dwarven Fortress and other possible tiles so it's all valuable research and development. Trust us when we say that no one is more aware of the increasing tile development timeframe than ourselves and we've set out to try and remedy this best we can.
So we'd like to take this opportunity to announce we've officially partnered with MiniWarGaming.
As they have an ever increasing focus and passion for narrative based gaming we felt they'd be great partners for Graven Guild and fortunately they absolutely love Hexton Hills :)
The aim of this partnership is to help relieve us of some of our less art focused tasks so we can get back to what we're good at; excavating new hexes from the labyrinthian mines beneath Graven Tower - aka making more stuff faster.
Fear not! Hexton Hills remains the sole property of Graven Guild and we'll continue to put in the same dedication to detail and quality that we've shown thus far.
You'll notice that as part of this partnership Hexton Hills will no longer be exclusively sold on MyMiniFactory but also as bundles at the MiniWarGaming shop. All prices will be based on our tiles sold on MyMiniFactory but sales and offers may differ from site to site. MiniWarGaming is more focused on offering bundles - something we plan on incorporating into the MMF shop eventually. We don't have plans to offer particular hexes exclusively to either site. As Graven Guild is in charge of our MMF storepage, this will still be the most up to date place to buy individual releases. There will be no limitations, simply a further option if you're looking to buy Hexton Hills tiles.
Keep an eye out as MWG is releasing an exciting video today showing the amazing map they've made:
App news
We've made some small improvements to the app that should make using it a little easier. These changes should be going live today (tomorrow at the latest) so go have a play and let us know what you think.
We have added:
Undo/Redo buttons
Copy button on the hex menu
Lock button on the hex menu
We have also fixed the issue with the map name changing to the default name when reloading a map as well as some other optimizations. There are still plenty of features we plan to implement and we'll share some big information on that soon.
If you have feedback and/or suggestions one option is to join our discord where we have specific channels dedicated to furthering app development.
What's next?
Now we've partnered with MWG we're ecstatic about delivering on a regular release schedule. We've already made great progress with EC Docks which will be the next major set. As both Mega Tiles are near complete, also expect to see them soon. After that we will start on the Dwarven Fortress and EC Middle Class Districts.
As always,
Keep it hexy,
Dan & Jax
* twist - they fall in love at the end and have giant lizard babies.. aww**
**(Dans fatigue induced 'Son of Ashrax' fanfic territory) So one baby is blue like mom and the other red like dad. They grow up best friends but then the BLUE one (omg they were supposed to be the good one!) discovers grandpa Ashrax's stash of war memorabilia and becomes wrapped up in questionable ideologies and the two siblings have a big fight. The blue youngling accidently kills Ashrax and they're all like 'noooooooo.' Red sets out on a quest for vengeance and forms a quirky group of friends, goes on zany side quests and learns valuable life lessons. The two have an epic showdown but Red uses the power of friendship to defeat and ultimately forgive Blue. They walk off into the sunset hand in hand (claw in claw?). - influences and further reading/watching: Lion King 2 Simbas Pride, Avatar the last airbender and most Shōnen manga.
