UK Games Expo Sale!
What an amazing few days we've had at UKGE this year! We spoke with backers, fans, mini enthusiasts, gamers, and many curious attendees. It was incredibly gratifying to see the genuine joy on peoples faces as they explored and played with the tiles. This was our first time exhibiting, so we made some mistakes and learned many valuable lessons. Overall, it was a great success, and we will definitely be back next year.
App News
We've made some significant changes to the app so now would be a great time to try it out.
Important: We've been working on integrating pathfinding tools for the app, which required re-orienting several tiles. This change will affect all pre-existing maps. Fortunately, now that this update is complete, we won't need to make any further changes going forward.
Updates include:
Welcome screen. Includes links for information and email feedback. The Map Planner Guide aims to be a a place to gain additional information on app tools as well as list keyboard shortcuts .etc
Upper right full screen mode button
Revamped right hand UI display
Select tool - allows you to select multiple tiles and move together (ctrl+lb to select multiple.) Also allows you to select empty cells for future functions
Tile options (such as copy, delete.etc) moved to dropdown under Realm name (we are reviewing this and may move rotate options back on to tile overlay)
Ability to add tile tokens such as flags has been integrated
Updated search function and category filter
Paint and fill 'enable random rotation' tickbox
Send tiles to be printed on demand by miniwargaming forge via the 'tile list' feature. Select from different materials and printing sizes. This view also enables you to view the physical size (cm) of your map in different scales like 100%, 75%, 50%.
Important - When checking out, disable any popup blocker on our site to proceed to miniwargaming, we'll include this information in our next build.
Touch screen implementation! Now works on tablet devices!
As always, new features sometimes come with a plethora of bugs, and we're doing our best to locate and fix them as soon as we're aware. We're already aware of a handful in the current build and are working diligently to eliminate them. We’d be thrilled if you could report any bugs or give general feedback to us via social media or email.
Our next steps with the app are to implement the first pathfinding tools, allowing you to draw out rivers or roads. After that, we'll likely pause to focus on making everything as intuitive and user-friendly as possible.
What's next?
We're brimming with ideas after the expo for what we want to do with Hexton Hills but before diving into new projects, we need to complete the remaining three sets of Campaign 1. Up next will be EC: Sprawling Slums, followed by EC: Upper Class Districts, and finally the Elven City.
We'll be back soon with a glimpse at some of the Campaign 2 tiles we showcased at UKGE and information on how you can own the Dragon Mascot Tile we made for the UKGE competition (we came 2nd!).
As always,
Keep it hexy!
